March the 0th

President declares leap year’s extra day March 0th.

March 0th

For a long time now I’ve wondered why leap year’s extra day always goes to February.  Since 2012 is the End of the World, getting to the bottom of this was now or never and, as President of the DBC I wanted to make our last year a good one, so I felt a duty to look into this.  I got to work and, after some crazy tough research, found out that February never asked for the extra day!  So was this just a tradition?  Did January and March have no say in the matter?  I had to get ahold of February to straighten this out.  It took some doing but there’s this guy I know and his friend’s friend (on condition of anonymity) hooked me up - I got the number.  Soon I was on the phone with February.

Long story short, but with the World Ending and all, February (what a talker) agreed to give the extra day to March - which is great news for DBC’s March Madness:  February get’s a break from lugging that extra day around all year and MM gets an extra day for riding; it’s a win/win.

So, with February’s approval, as DBC President I hereby decree that this leap year’s extra day shall be March 0th.  I know some of you may snicker but desperate times require desperate measures - 2012 may be our last shot so let's make it a good one.  And starting March 0th, let the madness begin...

NOTE: The March Madness online mileage tracker can’t log March 0th.  March Madness riders are advised to add their March 0th and March 1st miles together and enter the total in March 1st.
