2011 PBP Jersey Order Info

Craig Robertson is coordinating the 2011 Northern California PBP Jersey Order. If you are interested in ordering jersey(s), vests, or jackets, you'll need to do so by April 17. Ordering must be done online. Delivery will be in early to mid June and will be through one of the four Northern California brevet organizers (Davis, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa) or you can have it mailed to you via USPS fixed rate shipping.

For fixed rate shipping, you'll need to mail me the check and I'll then go to the post office.  For a typical order, it should be $11 to 15, but that will depend on how much clothing you order.  USPS also does fixed rate shipping overseas, but I don't know the rates offhand.  If there is a large interest in some other location, it may be possible to deal with that in bulk.  Anything special needs to be arranged prior to April 17.  Those who can expect direct delivery have already been told.

You do not need to be going to PBP to order clothing.  I don't want to have to check or keep track; if you want to order it justs helps us meet minimum quantities.

To order clothing, you'll need to go to the following link.

If you have previously ordered team clothing through Voler, you may*already have an account, if not, you'll need to create one.  When you create your account, use the Address 2 field to indicate how you want to receive*your clothing (list the brevet group or mail)   If you already have an account, you can modify it.

You can add or delete clothing without needing to "check out" prior to*April 17, but if your order is not paid for by then, it will not be processed.  After "check out" you can still add items until April 17 and*should also be able to remove them - I've entered an order for myself but have not tried canceling anything to see what happens. I can monitor the ordering process, so if you miss something, you may*get an e-mail from me.

The design will be based on the 2007 jersey(which is based on the 1999*and 2003 designs), but with the colors reworked so that the sleeve/shoulder*color will be red instead of blue and some of the other items will be*different colors.  The dates will be changed and the logos will be updated.*A preliminary version of the back of the jersey is shown at the link above.*It will be updated as the design finalizes.

Jerseys will be available in sleeveless, short, and long sleeve.  You can choose between men and women's versions.  There are race cut (more snug) and club (looser) cuts.  All of the jerseys last time were in club cut. Club cut jerseys are also a couple inches longer, so they will sit lower around your hips.

You'll also be able to choose between 3/4 hidden zip or full zip (for a bit more)  Because of the way the jerseys are constructed, the full zip has 1/2 to 3/4" more girth.  All versions of the jerseys come with three pockets in the back.  The short sleeve and sleeveless jerseys come in  Voler's SQ Pro fabric*which is a grid like material.  The long sleeve jersey comes in a heavier GeoTherm material.

There are two versions of vests.  Both have pockets in the back; the wind vest did not have pockets in 2007.  The lighter vest uses a thin ripstop material on the front and a mesh material in the back.  The heavier vest uses Voler's Denali fabric and is fairly heavyweight.

There are also two jackets.  The wind jacket is similar to the wind vest except that there are no pockets.  The thermal jacket does have pockets. Vest and jackets come in unisex sizing - which is basically men's sizing. Women should normally order down one size.

There is more information about fabrics and sizing at

Neither the thermal vest nor thermal jacket will fold up and fit in a pocket.  I own a couple thermal jackets and tend to wear them pre and post event, but others wear them while riding.  None of these are waterproof: you'll still need a rain coat.  :-(

There will only be one order and there are no plans to order extra clothing, so if you want some of the clothing, order it now.  When ordering remember that you may want extra jerseys, both for yourself (in case of a crash or wear) or to trade with riders from elsewhere at PBP - this is a very popular thing to do. I signed up for minimum orders of 100 for short sleeve (counts vests and sleeveless jerseys) and 100 for long sleeve (jackets and jerseys) to get a lower price.  I don't anticipate any issue with getting enough orders for shortsleeve items, but am hopefull that people will consider jackets and long sleeve jerseys in sufficient quantity.   If you have questions, please direct them to me - if I think it might be of general interest, I'll send it out to everyone.  A similar message will go out on several other mailing list (Davis Bike Club, Randon, CalRando, SFRandon, ...)
