2010 Lifetime Achievement Awards

DBC runs on an incredible inexpensive source of renewable energy – volunteers! From the Board of Directors to hundreds of volunteers for the Double Century, Foxy’s, Criterium, March Madness, daily rides, and tours, members put in thousands of hours each year to make DBC the wonderful organization that it is. We believe that DBC is unique for an all-volunteer organization that provides such a wide range of bicycling opportunities for its members. It takes a lot of work to keep all this going, while effectively managing a budget of over $300,000 per year and keeping the club strong and solvent. 

In order to more formally recognize some of our outstanding and long-term volunteers, the Board of Directors has established the DBC Lifetime Achievement Award. Elinor Olsen and Gerry Petersen were recognized this year at the annual holiday party with a Lifetime Achievement Award and lifetime membership in DBC. They were each given a framed letter recognizing their many years of service in numerous roles for the DBC.
