October Minutes in Brief

The Board voted to adopt a position of support for the removal of non-conforming “Ride Single File” Signs, on and near Putah Creek Road, Solano County and approve the President to sign and send a letter to the Chairperson, Solano County Board of Supervisors, requesting said sign removal.
A motion passed, to retain the current Club dues structure.
Race Team: A motion passed, to adopt the proposed 2015 Budget with one exception: $5000.00 is to be withdrawn from Reserves and added to the Race Team expense line item, adjusting that amount from $32,000.00 to $37,000.00. Said adjustment is done with the understanding that the Race Team will examine the financial productivity of its events and review their budget for possible savings.
Junior Race Team: Toni and Russ Kanz gave a presentation about their difficulties in securing sponsorships for the Jr. Race Team. They report there is misunderstanding about the role and goals of the DBC, particularly within the business community and the Chamber of Commerce. Out of some forty businesses contacted, they were able to secure seven sponsorships.
The board discussed various options for improving and clarifying our image in the community. No motions were taken.
