Volunteer for a GREAT Opportunity – or two – or three
Volunteering to support biking events in Davis can be one of the most enjoyable activities in town. We have found that cyclists make some of the happiest and friendliest volunteers – and the opportunity to serve while meeting great people can not be over rated.
This Spring DBC members have three splendid opportunities. Choose your event(s) and task(s) now and plan for a wonderful experience.
The Bicycle Hall of Fame Inaugural Grand Fondo will be ridden Sunday, May 6. Hall of Fame Inductees who have confirmed their intention to ride include Greg LeMond, Nelson Vails, Ruthie Matthes, Mike McCarthy, Jacquie Phalen, George Mount, Jeanne Golay, Wayne Stetina, Stu Thomsen, John Howard and Michael Aisner. There are pre-race volunteer jobs that would leave you free to ride this event as well as a number of slots for “Ride Guides” on the day of the ride. The ususal tasks of prepping rider packets, registration assistants, rest stop staffers, course set up and tear-down, course marshals, support drivers, and many many more.

The 2012 Davis Bike Club Double Century is scheduled for Saturday, May 19. There are a wide variety of tasks from check-in, registration, rest-stops, SAG support, clean-up, food distribution, and dinner work. To volunteer contact Robin Neuman <Roknrobin2@aol.com>. She'll find a place for you!

There are many volunteer tasks and the opportunity to work before or after the ride so that you may participate as a rider if you would like. Registration for riding is open on line, with a less expensive registration if filed prior to March 31.
