ALS Ride

The ALS Association, California Chapters are currently planning their 8th Annual Ride to Defeat ALS for Saturday, June 30, 2012. This fully supported Centurion cycling event includes something for everyone, including a 10 mile family ride, 25, 60 and a 100 mile ride through the picturesque town of Napa, CA.

Over 600 participants from throughout California are anticipated to attend the festivities, which include breakfast, lunch, vender booths, a 2 mile walk thru the beautiful Napa Valley, wine tasting supported by local wineries and great raffle prizes.

At any given time 30,000 Americans are battling ALS, most commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  ALS is a degenerative fatal neuromuscular disease that attacks the motor neurons, ultimately leading to paralysis.  There is no known cause or cure for ALS and it can afflict anyone, at any age, with no regard for race or socio-economic boundaries.  As one of the Associations signature events, last year’s Ride to Defeat ALS raised over $330,000 to support patient services; clinical care; advocacy efforts and a global cutting-edge research program.

Please consider supporting our effort by promoting the event and you will be helping the thousands of Californians that will receive the ALS diagnosis in 2012.   You can get more information on this event at http://www.ridetodefeatals.com or I would be more than happy to send a media kit to you with all of the details for the event.

I thank you in advance for your assistance.
