November Minutes in Brief

• 

  Secretary, Jack Berger reports that letters supporting removal of the “Ride single file” signage are finished and will be sent to the Solano Transportation Authority.

• Race Team Director, John Steggall reports Robin Farina recently put on a Cyclocross clinic.  She has a women’s clinic planned in November.  Juniors are active and doing well.  One of the RT elite riders has been picked up by a professional team.
• Foxy's Fall Century Director, Michael Borgg reports this year's Foxy's Fall Century was a great success with many happy riders.  He estimates that there were about 1,800 participants and expressed his thanks to all who supported the effort.  He mentioned the ongoing issue of a “False Foxy’s” contingent who like to race the course but are not part of the event, and have the potential to create adverse publicity for the event.  These cyclists are not known to be DBC members.   
• Jason Fearing made a presentation reviewing the progress of the DBC's Facebook activities.  We have had a Facebook presence for the last 5 years.  Facebook has now gone public and posts do not go “free” to all who “like” our page.  Jason and Deb Ford are looking for easier ways to show what the Club is up to.  It's not practical to announce each recurring ride on Facebook. However, the use of "Meetup", might be considered, as it is being used by several other local clubs.  It allows for real time communication about specific events or rides.  Jason suggests we consider using Facebook to publicize major events and Meetup to deal with day by day rides.
