We've been (thankfully) getting some rain lately.  Cycling-wise, the wet ground can mean new slick spots on the roads you regularly ride and, it can hide broken glass.  If this keeps up you could be in for more flat tires so check out this month's Roadside Fix.

The Club's Annual Holiday Party is next week so be sure to register ASAP if you plan to attend.  It's the Club's thank you to all its members and everyone gets a door prize pair of DBC cycling socks.  Member attendees will also vote for the 2015 Board of Directors so take a look at the Nominating Committee's report.

On a personal note.  This is my last issue of Changing Gears online.  It's been my pleasure to serve as Newsletter Editor this year.  In that time my thinking has come around to where I see a useful purpose for an ongoing monthly newsletter (there's that change I promised earlier in the year).  Why?  We can all look back at the decades of Newsletters past that, to one degree or another, captured a snapshot of the ongoing cycling zeitgeist.  Unlike the rapid back and forth of social media which is quickly off to the next thing, and the next...   and soon forgotten, I think a continuing line of monthly newsletters focusing on topical current events has an ongoing place and value within the DBC.
