It's been a maddening month

Congratulations to the March Madness riders who kept riding to meet their mileage goals.  The month's weather was an ever changing mix that made completing your challenge increasingly difficult the more miles you rode.  This year we had an almost perfect record of inclement weather on Tuesdays which made for precious few group rides to Folsom.  Add in all those windy and rainy days and, though probably not a record, each was felt by the riders on the road and off.  And now March has passed; let the helmet fitting begin...

April's weather promises to be more moderate, though you wouldn't know it gauging by this first week.  I hope you find the time to take many rides this month.  To the store, with your kids, errands around town - any ride is better than no ride.  Some of you will have your fitness base firmly established by now so if you're feeling particularly good on a group ride, when the pace slackens, go to the front and pull at the "tip of the spear" for a while.  Sometimes it's not as easy as it looks.  And please, remember to be considerate of new riders who join you on Club rides.  Long ago you were a new rider too.
