On May 21st, the city of Davis joined the international community of cycling to honor the cyclists injured or killed on the road while living their passion on a bicycle, and also to proclaim our right to share the roads with motorists.

As the United States’ most bicycle-friendly city and host of the US Bicycling Hall of Fame, Davis had to show strong in this project.

The Davis Bike Club took charge of the Ride of Silence, giving the mandate to Ellen Winder to act as the Ride organizer.

Approximately 130 cyclists joined the 8-mile ride through downtown Davis, ending at the Bicycling Hall of Fame where we all shared friend-ship and refreshments.

Among the riders was Glenda Taylor, widow of Dan Taylor,  recently killed on Putah Creek Rd while riding his bike. She was accompanied by family and friends.

You can visit the Facebook page: Ride of Silence--Davis for  a complete report and pictures.
