On Saturday November 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. a Ribbon Cutting event was held to celebrate the installation of the Steve Harrison Memorial Arches. The event took place on the 20th Street side of the Steve Harrison Memorial Bikeway, located at the intersection of Potter Road and East 20th Street.

The art work was donated to the City of Chico by Linda Zorn in memory of Steve Harrison, long time Chico resident and bike advocate. Local metal artist Jeff Lindsay was commissioned by Ms. Zorn to create a pair of arches to be placed at both entry ways of the Steve Harrison Memorial Bike Path which is located on the east side of town along Potter Road between East 20th Street and the Skyway and continuing along Skyway as a connection to Honey Run Road.. The bike path was built to make a safe and scenic connection between Chico and the Butte Creek Canyon area as part of the City of Chico Bike Plan.

Each arch spans the width of the bike path at a height of 15' feet and depicts a section of a bicycle chain ring. The artwork is fabricated with powder coated metal and stainless steel. The design ans construction team included Jeff Lindsay, Linda Zorn, Modern Building, and Christina Aranguren. The donation includes all costs associated with City staff administration and the fabrication, installation, and future maintenance of the art.
