400k Brevet

A challenging, scenic route to Lake Sonoma.

Dates: Sat-Sun, April 16-17, 2016

Start Time: 06:00  (Check in begins: 05:00)

Time Limit: 27 hours

Starting from the Mace Avenue Park & Ride, the outbound leg of the 400k loops down through Fairfield and back up Wooden Valley Road.  After Moskowite you ride through the Capell Valley and over Priest Grade, dropping down Sage Canyon, past Lake Hennessey, and onto the Silverado Trail which will take you to Calistoga at the top end of Napa Valley. You'll continue on through the Knights, Alexander, and Dry Creek Valleys to Lake Sonoma.  The inbound route retraces the route back to Moskowite, then heads over Cardiac and past Monticello Dam to Lake Solano. You then ride south to Vacaville for a (convenience store) receipt control, before working east and north back to the start/finish control.

All controls (except Vacaville, a receipt control) are hosted by friendly DBC volunteers, who will have snacks and rehydration supplies for you. There is close to 10,000' of climbing on this brevet.
